Solstice/Yule Project 3: Day 9
Last night was completely productive. I think slapping paint on the hand helped my mood. Actually, having paint on virtually every part of the painting helps. I still have a lot of work to do - mebbe 10 more hours or so (mebbe more). But having the paint everywhere makes me see that I am getting somewhere. And progress is an artist’s friend.
Plus, I am pretty happy because I’m going to meet my self-imposed deadline. Still, I’d like to be able to work faster. I wonder how other people do it.
In other news, I discovered a great project for the new year. Yesterday, I found a link to this. I might be a little late in discovering it. But I figure I could give it a go for 2008. I have always been a fan of art cards and I even considered getting involved it in. But the holidays crept up so fast that I found myself too busy to do it. I think from a time management prospective, this project is perfect. I mean, I can do a card a week methinks. I mean, that shouldn’t be too bad, right? And I totally love the idea of it being like a journal. I think it would be a nice way to ease myself into art cards and see if I even like it. And if I can even work that small.
And it looks like I am going to have some much needed time off during the holidays. I was a little unsure how the vacation thing worked around here. But apparently, I have seven days that I can use. Cool. My employer is giving us Solstice Eve, Solstice Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day off. So I am filling in the gaps and taking December 27, 28 and 31st off. Essentially, I’ll be off work from 4 pm on December 21st until January 2nd. Woo! I need the vacation. A lot.

Oh the art card thing looks like fun. I will have to try that and see how it goes.

Totally. And it seems easy because you only have to do one per week!
