Ugh. Super busy. Almost have no time to blog. Really angry that I am so busy. I will save you from the details and rage. But I managed to force some work on this. Result? Nose is pissing me off.

Hello There!
I just found your blog, and have been spending some time flipping through your posts. I love doing portraits as well, so it was fun for me to see what you have been doing. I started an art blog several months ago, and I love finding other artists doing the same thing, and seeing how they approach the same idea. Some thoughts for you:
1. I enjoy how you post your work in stages so that viewers can really see how you develop a drawing. It really helps show how much effort goes into one drawing. It also attests to your patience, something that I often times lack. I tend to want to finish a drawing in one sitting, so I end up rushing. I need to learn to discipline myself like you to be willing to go back and rework things.
2. I find the current self-portrait you are doing fascinating. I actually really like it as it is, with only the eyes fully developed. It provides a thought provoking image. I know you probably will end up fully fleshing the drawing out, and I am sure it will be great, but if for some reason you do not finish this one…it will still be great. :o)
3. I absolutely love that you publically post your art goals for the year! What a great idea. I do not know if I would have the guts for that. There is so much more accountability and “realness” about it by posting it for everyone to see. I started my blog in many ways as an accountability project, but my hat is off to you for being so bold.
4. I noticed that one of your main goals for 2009 was to try and start selling prints of your artwork, but you were not sure how quite to best do it. I just found this great website earlier this week called “Red Bubble” where artists can upload images and sell prints of them. Red Bubble does all the printing and shipping for you. It is free to sell work, because they only collect fees when you sell something. I have not tried it yet, but I am hoping to soon. I do not know if it works well, but it at least seems like a good concept. The site is: http://www.redbubble.com/
I hope you have a wonderful evening.

Hello there! (sorry about the last post. I was having some technical problems),
I just found your blog and have had fun looking through your posts. I also enjoy doing portraits, so it is always exciting to find other like minded individuals. I started an art blog a few months back, and since then it has been great to find other people with art blogs, to see how they use that outlet. Here are some thoughts for you:
1. I really like how you post your work in stages. It shows really how much work it takes to create artwork. It is also always great to see how an artist thinks in creating something. Your patience is inspiring. I tend to always want to quickly finish a drawing/painting in one sitting, and as a result too often I rush things or settle for less than great.
2. This self portrait that you are working on is quite brilliant. I think it is a provocative image as is with just the eyes fleshed out. I know you will probably complete the entire drawing, and I am sure it will be great, but if for some reason you do not finish this one…it will still be great. (good job, by the way, at keeping the eyes moist…I know how hard that is)
3. I absolutely love how you post your yearly art goals. I do not know if I would have the guts to do that. I partly started my blog as an effort to discipline myself and create accountability, but you have taken it to a whole new level. My hat is off to you for being so bold.
4. I noticed that one of your goals for the year was to try and start selling prints of your work. I am not sure if you have figured out how to do this yet, but earlier this week I just found a great website: http://www.redbubble.com/ It allows artists to upload images and sell them for free! Red Bubble takes care of all the printing, billing, and shipping. You only have to pay fees when you sell something. I have not tried it yet, but I hope to soon. I am not sure how well it works, but it seems like a really good concept.
I look forward to seeing your work’s progress. Have a great evening.
