I’m a 35 year old artist, living in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with my boy, W, and my two beasts, Loki & Ripley.

I am almost a self-taught artist, but I have completed a Visual Design Certificate (specializing in art theory and practice) through the University of Calgary Continuing Education faculty. My dream is to return to school full-time to complete either a BFA, majoring in Drawing or a BDes, majoring in Illustration through Alberta College of Art & Design.

Aside from that, I’m a simple girl who prefers: foul language, gut-busting, nose snorting laughter to romantic schlup, heated debate to blase agreement, indie art-house flicks to regurgitated popcorn flicks, opinionated to conciliatory, elephants to hippos, alien to predator, Oscar Wilde to James Joyce, and of course, Original Trilogy to those disasterous Prequels.

I like my skin tattooed and pierced, my humour dry and black, and my world view slightly cynical and skewed. I have a penchant for art, world travel, photography and lomography, comics, music, zombies, Irvine Welsh and Douglas Coupland, geekiness, useless pop culture factoids, genre television, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Gustav Klimt, open-minded compatriots, Ewan McGregor, Leonardo Dicaprio and Christian Bale, all sorts of science fiction, and The White Stripes.

I’m always passionate about people, places and things that mean a lot to me (the good, the bad and the ugly). I support the David Suzuki Foundation, WWF, and Amnesty International. and Stephen Lewis is freaking amazing.

And I don’t think people can really exist without art. Even bad art. After all, we all need something to complain about right?
